Playgroup Lowdown

A well loved Monday stay and play in the centre of Saffron Walden, with imaginative play, crafts, snack, story and songs in a warm, community led setting.

What it’s like

This is a popular Monday stay and play right in the centre of town. It is for under 5s, with toddlers especially well suited to the imaginative play and different activity areas.

The large hall is set up with pretend play, toy stations, small builder workbenches, train sets, craft tables and a cosy book nook. There are baby bouncers for younger babies, with mats and blankets creating softer areas for crawlers.

The session has a gentle structure. After free play, everyone gathers for snack while the organisers tidy away, before finishing with a group story and songs. It gives the morning a calm and predictable ending.

The overall vibe is warm, community led and organised without feeling overly structured.
